W. Scott Jordan D.D.S., P.A.
There is a reason that patients come to Dr. Jordan's dental practice and refer their friends and family to him. He takes a kind, gentle and caring approach to his patient's care, striving to make everyone feel at home and become part of his growing dental family.
Dr. Jordan received his degree in biology from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. He went on to continue his education at Northwestern University Dental School, graduating in 1979 with his D.D.S. degree. At graduation the Dental Society of Dental Anesthesiology presented him with a special recognition for outstanding achievements in the field of Dental Anesthesia.
Wishing to further his dental education, Dr. Jordan completed a hospital general practice residency at Charlotte Memorial Hospital (now Carolinas Medical Center) in 1980. He and his wife Sue, fell in love with North Carolina during his time at Charlotte Memorial Hospital, and opened his dental practice in Charlotte upon completion of his residency.
Dr. Jordan maintained his practice in Charlotte for 20 years. During that time he attended the University of North Carolina part time and completed his master's degree in counseling psychology. Nearing the end of his practical portion of his counseling education, Dr. Jordan was recruited to be the first Clinical Director of a North Carolina statewide well-being program for dentists. This program has grown over the years and is now known as the Caring Dental Professionals program. Dr. Jordan maintained his dental practice during his counseling training and two years of service for the Caring Dental Professionals program. When he stepped down as the clinical director, he sold his practice in Charlotte and moved to Rutherfordton, North Carolina, to continue practicing dentistry in a rural area near the mountains.
Dr. Jordan's commitment to providing his patients excellent dental care has compelled him to constantly pursue further continuing education in the various fields of dentistry. He has completed seven continuums at the L. D. Pankey institute. He has also trained with world-renowned restorative dentist Dr. Peter Dawson. Over the years he has obtained advanced training in restorative, cosmetic and implant dentistry. He also has extensive training in conscious sedation, providing another means to provide his patients with compassionate care. Although no longer a practicing counselor, Dr. Jordan has spent his practice years providing compassionate, empathetic and kind chair-side manner, which helps his patients to quickly feel at ease.
